Lots of company results to digest this past week in the online trading sector, including record setting numbers put out by Robinhood, which amazingly saw revenues from Prediction Markets trading well outpace Crypto in Q2 2026.

IG becomes major player in Prediction Markets buying Underdog for $1.3 billion. Leading UK based online broker IG Group (LON:IGG) has taken a big step to establish itself as a major player in the expanding Prediction Markets business, announcing that it has agreed to acquire Underdog Sports Holdings Inc, a leading US daily fantasy sports and prediction markets operator, for total consideration of up to approximately $1.3 billion.
LMAX eyeing NASDAQ IPO/SPAC listing at $5 billion valuation. Crypto industry news site Coindesk is reporting that London based institutional digital asset and FX marketplace LMAX has engaged with investment banks to look at a stock exchange listing. Citing “three people familiar with the matter”, the report stated that LMAX is working with Morgan Stanley and KBW to evaluate several options, ranging from an IPO in the US or Europe, to a SPAC merger, to a full-out sale of the company, with a “traditional” IPO and listing on NASDAQ being the company’s preferred option.
MAS Markets to acquire Spot FX ECN and market maker Solid. Institutional liquidity and technology provider MAS Group has announced the acquisition of a strategic equity stake in Netherlands based Spot FX ECN operator and market maker Solid, marking the first step in a full acquisition to be completed over the coming years. Back in 2022, Solid became a minority shareholder in MAS (then known as BidX Markets). We understand that as part of the transaction, MAS Group will be buying back the stake that Solid held in the company.
Exclusive: EBC claims of stealing against former UK Director grow to $3.5 million. FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that the claims of misappropriating funds from the company made by global Retail FX and CFDs broker EBC Financial against its former UK Director are significantly larger than initially reported. We had reported last month that EBC UK had taken a write-off of £747,000 (just under USD $1 million) in its 2023 fiscal year, accusing a former Director of taking the funds.
