Exclusive: Former Citadel FX execs raise $10M to launch online retail brokerage Epic Markets. FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that two former senior managers who ran the eFX business for market maker Citadel Securities are now preparing to launch a new online brokerage called Epic Markets. Epic plans to launch with a presence in both the US and the UAE. Ahead of its planned launch later this year, and as the company completes regulatory license applications, Epic Markets has closed a $10 million pre-seed round of funding.

Dubai based CFDs broker BitDelta has announced the launch of a fully operational office in Business Bay, Dubai, after the company received a Category 5 “Introduction” license for Bitdelta Securities Financial Services LLC. The company said that its Business Bay office will serve as the firm’s operational hub for the UAE and the wider GCC region, comprising dedicated teams for client onboarding, compliance, regulatory affairs, and partner relations.
Brendan Gunn gets max 12 month sentence for role in crypto scam. Australia financial regulator ASIC has announced that former finance director Brendan Gunn has been sentenced in the Local Court of NSW, for dealing with over $180,000 when it was reasonable to suspect that those funds were proceeds of crime. Brendan Gunn was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, to be released immediately upon entering into a recognizance of $3,000 requiring he be of good behaviour for 12 months. The maximum sentence of imprisonment able to be imposed in a summary prosecution for this offence is 12 months.
