OANDA Japan Inc today issued a notice to traders regarding the upcoming termination of the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) service.

The brokerage will stop the provision of the MT4 service at the close of trading on November 27, 2026 (Friday).

New MT4 orders will be suspended from the close of trading on September 25, 2026 (Friday). From the market open on September 28, 2026 (Monday), trading on MT4 will be limited to closing existing positions only.

MT4 has been on the market for a long time, and MetaQuotes no longer provides system maintenance for it. Therefore, the brokerage has determined that it is difficult to continue meeting the latest security requirements.

OANDA Japan strongly recommends that traders migrate to MetaTrader 5 (MT5) as soon as possible.

1. Suspension of new MT4 orders (demo accounts and live accounts)

Suspension date: After the end of trading on Friday, September 25, 2026

2. Termination of MT4 service (demo accounts and live accounts)

Termination date: After the end of trading on Friday, November 27, 2026

After the above-mentioned deadlines, traders will no longer be able to log in to MT4 or conduct any trades.

Any remaining positions and balances at the time of MT4 service termination will be transferred to an MT5 Standard Plan account between Saturday, November 28th and Sunday, November 29th. Details regarding the position transfer will be announced closer to the termination date.

After the service termination on November 27th, OANDA Japan clients will no longer be able to log in to MT4. Customers with no open positions and remaining balances in their MT4 Tokyo server account are requested to transfer funds to another account (MT5 account or fxTrade/TradingView account) as soon as possible.
