Exclusive: Tickmill hires Nicholas Baumer as CMO
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Retail FX and CFDs brokerage group Tickmill has hired Nicholas Baumer as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Nicholas Baumer replaces Marilena Iakovou as CMO, and like Ms. Iakovou will continue to be located in Cyprus. As was exclusively reported here at FNG last month, Ms. Iakovou – who helped build Tickmill’s marketing operation into one of the best in the FX business and saw Tickmill grow to top $100 million in run rate annual revenues – left Tickmill for startup broker M4Markets, and has brought along with her most of her marketing team from Tickmill including Mariliza Karrera and Themis Christou.
Mr. Baumer will be charged with continuing to grow Tickmill’s marketing efforts, and also its marketing team to replace the executives who as noted above have departed for M4Markets. Before joining Tickmill, Nicholas Baumer spent five years at rival FX broker BDSwiss, leaving in July 2019 after serving as the company’s marketing director, and head of acquisition. He spent the past year as a private digital marketing consultant.
Tickmill was founded in 2014 and is still run by Estonian twin brothers Ingmar and Illimar Mattus. The group holds financial services licenses in the UK (FCA), Cyprus (CySEC), South Africa (FSCA) and operates an offshore entity in Seychelles. Tickmill reported revenues for the first six months of 2020 of $54.3 million, on average monthly trading volume of $132 billion.
