Exclusive: M4Markets hires Tickmill’s Marilena Iakovou as CMO
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that startup Retail FX and CFD brokerage M4Markets (m4markets.com) has made a number of strategic hires, as the company plans a full launch and additional regulatory licenses.
We have learned that M4Markets has hired the two most senior marketing executives from Tickmill, Themis Christou and Marilena Iakovou. Ms. Iakovou was Tickmill’s CMO, and will assume that same role at M4Markets. Marilena Iakovou had been with Tickmill since 2016, joining from Orbex. She had also worked previously in marketing at IronFX.
M4Markets has actually quietly hired a number of other IronFX alumni, including Nick Jay, who has just also joined the company as Global Head of Business Development. Mr. Jay was Head of Partnerships at HotForex from 2015 until leaving earlier this year, and worked at IronFX as Global Sales Manager from 2013-2015, overlapping with Ms. Iakovou’s tenure there.
Commenting on Ms. Iakovou’s appointment, M4Markets Executive Director Deepak Jassal noted:
“Marilena’s reputation proceeds her. Her deep understanding of the sector, the markets, products and marketing strategies will allow us to help push business forward. Her experience in global expansion aligns well with our efforts to serve new markets and she will be a valuable asset for the company.”
Remarking on her appointment Marilena Iakovou commented:
“I am beyond excited to join M4Markets as their vision aligns with my values and I am confident that together we will reach new heights and create a brokerage the focuses on traders and their needs.”
M4Markets is formally domiciled in Seychelles and holds a financial services license from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the Seychelles. However the company is operated primarily from Cyprus. As noted above we understand that M4Markets is in process of applying for licenses for its subsidiaries in both Cyprus and the UK. M4Markets was established by Deepak Jassal, formerly an investment banker with HSBC, KPMG and UBS, and by Theofanis Nakos, a fixed income sales specialist.
