FNG Exclusive… The fallout from the recent sale of FXCM to AvaTrade (following the acquisition of FXCM UK by Trade Nation) is starting.

FNG has learned that Joanna Wilcox, who was Group Chief Compliance Officer for FXCM operator Stratos Markets Limited, has moved to OANDA. We’d note that OANDA itself was acquired late last year, by Czech based prop trading firm FTMO. At OANDA, Joanna will serve as Executive Director, with Compliance Oversight and also responsibility as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).

Joanna Wilcox was with FXCM since 2024, based in London. Previously, Joanna was Head of Retail Advisory at IG Group (2021-2024), and Legal & Compliance Manager for financial and sports spreadbetting outfit Spreadex (2018-2021). Joanna also spent nine years at UK financial regulator The FCA (2009-2018) managing investigation teams within the Wholesale department of the Enforcement & Market Oversight Division.
