FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime senior StoneX Group (NASDAQ:SNEX) retail trading executive Alastair Hine has left the company. He effectively oversaw the FOREX.com and City Index (now StoneX Trading) retail brokerage brands for StoneX, out of London.

Alastair Hine was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Gain Capital – at the time the publicly traded operator of the FOREX.com and City Index online trading brands – when Gain Capital was acquired in 2020 by StoneX. He then stayed with StoneX as COO of the group’s renamed Self-Directed Trading unit, and last year was promoted to Global Head of Self Directed Trading, overseeing the FOREX.com and City Index operations.

Alastair’s departure from the company comes just several weeks after, under his watch, City Index rebranded as StoneX Trading.

Alastair previously spent 18 years (1999-2017) at IG Group, serving at various times as IG’s Chief Information Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Innovation Officer.
