Ann Godbehere to step down as HSBC director
HSBC Holdings plc announced today that Ann Godbehere, Senior Independent Director, will be stepping down as a Director of the company and retire from the Board at the company’s 2026 AGM.
Ann Godbehere said:

Ann Godbehere was appointed to the Board on 1 September 2023.
After joining Swiss Re in 1996, Ms Godbehere served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer from 2003 to 2007. She was also Interim Chief Financial Officer of Northern Rock Bank from 2008 to 2009 in the period immediately after its nationalisation.
Ms Godbehere also has extensive board experience, including with FTSE 100 companies, having previously served as non-executive Director of Prudential plc, British American Tobacco plc, UBS AG, UBS Group AG and as Senior Independent non-executive Director of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited.
Ms Godbehere currently serves as an non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee on the boards of both Stellantis N.V and Shell plc. In addition, she serves as non-executive Chair of the Group’s subsidiary, HSBC Bank plc.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants and the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada.
