Swissquote invites traders to vote on proposal for forum for trading strategies
Leading Swiss online trading firm Swissquote is inviting traders to have their say on a proposal for a forum for discussing trading strategies and financial news. The poll is currently active on Twitter.
The question is:
“Dear traders, what do you think about a digital platform/forum where we could endlessly discuss financial news and trading strategies?”
It is interesting to see that Swissquote is about to revive one of the services it offered back in the days. Let’s recall that the broker used to offer Swissquote Pulse, a communication platform for traders. Pulse has its beta launch in 2016, and grew out of the beta phase in the summer of 2017.
In November 2019, however, Swissquote announced the termination of the service:
“We herewith inform you that we have decided to discontinue our communication platform Pulse after a service period of three years and to remove it from our Newsroom”.
Pulse provided the trading community with an environment where one can share ideas, ask questions and may get to know the latest news about the market and the company. It is not quite clear whether the proposed forum will be different from Pulse.
Of course, the moment is ripe for all sorts of social media interaction about trading. Moreover, some forums of online trading companies (the IG Community being one example) have been quite popular and useful. Others, like OANDA’s trading forum, got closed recently. The issues for such forums’ survival most often concern maintenance and the ability of brokers’ staff to answer to traders’ questions.
Then, of course, one can question the necessity of a separate standalone forum, given the existence and popularity of services such as Reddit and Twitter among traders.
