Exclusive: Samtrade FX sponsors (another) UK team, Wolverhampton
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that newly FCA-licensed Retail FX and CFDs broker Samtrade has taken yet another step in promoting its brand in the UK, becoming a sponsor of Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Samtrade FX will serve as the Wolves’ Official Global FX Trading Partner ahead of the upcoming 2020-21 season. Wolverhampton, located just outside Birmingham in central England, placed seventh in Premier League standings in 2019-20.
As part of the agreement Samtrade FX will have its branding and logo visible on the club’s press conference backdrop, LED boards and official Wolves App. The deal does not include logo presence on the Wolves’ jerseys.
As noted this is the second such sponsorship for Samtrade FX. FNG reported exclusively at the end of August that Samtrade FX would be back-of-shirt sponsor for Cardiff City, which plays in the UK’s second-tier Championship league.
FNG also exclusively reported in July that Samtrade FX recently received licenses in the UK (FCA, as an Appointed Representative) and also in Australia (ASIC). Samtrade is based in and has been run (mainly) from Singapore, but had operated until now as an offshore broker domiciled Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The company is controlled by Singapore based entrepreneur Sam Goh.
Wolves general manager for marketing and commercial growth Russell Jones said:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Samtrade FX as the club’s official Forex and online trading partner.
“Our ethos is centred around partnering with ambitious companies who share our challenger vision for global brand growth.
“As an award-winning FX company with significant market share in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and China, Samtrade FX are a perfect fit.
“In return, Samtrade FX will utilise the club’s digital assets to expand their reach into Europe. On behalf of everyone at Wolves, I’d like to welcome Samtrade FX to the Wolves pack.”
Samtrade FX founder and chief executive officer, Sam Goh, added:
“Following our recent sponsorship of the Cardiff City, we are excited to be sponsoring a prominent Premier League team in Wolves.
“This partnership with the Wolves further solidifies our global growth strategy, particularly in terms of growing our visibility within Europe.”
“We are optimistic that this deal will enable us to reach greater heights in our respective fields, and look forward to a fruitful partnership and journey together.”
