IG Japan postpones implementation of mandatory 2FA
IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of electronic trading major IG Group, is postponing the implementation of mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA).
The originally planned date for the implementation was June 2026. IG Japan says it will inform its clients of the new implementation date at a later time.
To setup 2FA:
STEP 1
- Install Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your smartphone.
STEP 2
- Enable two-factor authentication from the settings screen of the IG trading app.
For any inquiries regarding this matter, please feel free to contact the IG support desk.
The broker attributed the need for the new requirement on the recent rise of unauthorized access to securities accounts due to phishing scams and other fraudulent activities across the industry.
