Interactive Brokers registers 15% Y/Y drop in DARTs in Feb 2023
Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR) has just published its key operating metrics for February 2023.
The company recorded 2.121 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) in February 2023, 15% lower than in February 2022 and 7% higher than in January 2023.
Ending client equity amounted to $331.6 billion, 5% lower than prior year and 2% lower than prior month, whereas ending client margin loan balances of $39.1 billion, 21% lower than prior year and 1% lower than prior month.
Interactive Brokers registered 2.16 million client accounts, 22% higher than prior year and 2% higher than prior month.
The average commission per cleared Commissionable Order was $3.12 including exchange, clearing and regulatory fees.
Speaking of Interactive Brokers’ performance, let’s note that, reported diluted earnings per share for the final quarter of 2022 were $1.31 and $1.30 as adjusted. Reported net revenues were $976 million for the fourth quarter of 2022 and $958 million as adjusted.
Net interest income increased 92% to $565 million on higher benchmark interest rates and customer credit balances, despite a decline in margin lending balances.
