FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned of a number of changes in the Australia Retail FX and CFDs sector, with a number of transactions occurring between some fairly well-known names and brands in the business.
At the center of the transactions are Jeremy Kinstlinger and Elan Bension, who together co-owned and co-ran ASIC licensed broker Global Prime since 2012. In 2020 the pair brought in former IC Markets senior executive Angus Walker as General Manager of Global Prime.
FNG has learned that Kinstlinger and Bension have sold Global Prime to rival Australia based brokerage Fusion Markets, and its founders Phil Horner (former Pepperstone CEO and Axi sales manager) and David Swinden (also ex Pepperstone). Global Prime and Fusion Markets are both now being operated under Fusion Markets’ ASIC licensed operating company FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd. Both brands’ offshore operations are now held under Vanuatu domiciled Gleneagle Securities Pty Limited. Fusion Markets also has a Seychelles based offshore business.
As for Jeremy Kinstlinger and Elan Bension, they have moved on to start a new global Retail FX and CFDs brokerage brand called Afterprime, housed under the Argamon group.
The Afterprime brand will actually comprise of a number of companies. To serve the European market, Kinstlinger and Bension have acquired CySEC CIF license holder HCFS High Capital Financial Services Ltd, previously associated with the HighCapital Trade and TradersLive online brokerage brands. HCFS has since been renamed Afterprime Europe Limited. Afterprime Ltd, domiciled in Seychelles, will serve as the group’s offshore arm.
In its home market of Australia, the Afterprime group will operate an ASIC licensed business under a different brand called Argamon Markets Pty Ltd, serving institutional clients. Argamon Markets will specialize in the optimization of financial and digital liquidity, and the management of Prime Broker relationships.
