Interactive Brokers TWS platform offers improved news and research
Online trading major Interactive Brokers continues to enhance its TWS platform, with the latest (beta) version of the solution offering improved news and research in order to make it easier for traders to find the content they really want to read.
Traders can use the Advanced Search to open the new News Reader. They can search by topic, symbol, or keyword or any combination of these, and use conditions (and) (or) (not) for more precise results. Also, they can save their search for future viewing, and add their saved search as a Mosaic news tab.
Furthermore, traders can use the updated News Configuration section in Global Configuration to further filter their saved searches on symbols, topics & keywords, article types, news providers, and language.
In addition, users of the platform can configure a custom “Research” tab using a saved search that’s filtered by the topics and research providers they prefer.
Personalized “My News” tab provides relevant reports and headlines based on one’s trading patterns, holdings, companies in one’s Watchlists, and articles one reads. The “My News” feed can be adjusted in News Configuration by adding or removing topics, symbols, and keywords as needed.
Let’s note that “News by Topic” gives traders easy access to more than 200 preset tabs they can add to their news window with just a click.
An important recent addition to TWS is a sustainable investing tool called Impact Dashboard. It is designed to help clients evaluate and invest in companies that align with their values.
The dashboard aims to set a new standard for tools that can be used for sustainable, socially responsible, and values-based investing. The launch comes as interest in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing is rapidly increasing.
The Impact Dashboard allows investors to select their personal investment criteria from 13 impact values and principles including Clean Air, Pure Water, Ocean Life, Land Health, Consumer Safety, Ethical Leadership, Gender Equality, Racial Equality, LGBTQ Inclusion, Company Transparency, Sustainable Product Lifecycle, Mindful Business Models and Fair Labor & Thriving Communities.
Clients can also exclude investments based on 10 categories: animal testing, business ethics controversies, corporate political spending and lobbying, energy-intensive, fossil fuels, greenhouse emissions, hazardous waste, high water usage, tobacco, alcohol and gambling and weapons and gun manufacturers.
