Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers continues to expand the functionalities of its trading solutions.

The latest (beta) build of the TWS platform offers a new feature called Themes. It allows platform users to explore companies and details connected to a specific theme. They may then explore connections to the companies themselves.

To access this tool, take the following steps:

• Right-click the asset you’re interested in then click the Fundamentals Explorer icon.
• Alternatively, click the New Window icon in the top left corner of the Mosaic layout and search/select Fundamentals Explorer.

• The Fundamentals Explorer screen will populate. Select the Themes tab.
• Click a theme and select Theme Overview to view details and related instruments.

Other recent enhancements to the TWS platform include the addition of a new pricing column. The new column is called the 30 Day Average Close Price. This shows the average closing price of the selected asset for the last 30 days.

In one of the preceding builds (10.36), Interactive Brokers added forecast contracts by ForecastEx, LLC on select CME Futures.

Exchange listed Forecast and Event Contracts are based on the outcome of an event and are short-term positions good for that trading day only. Forecast and Event Contracts let you express your view on whether the price of key futures markets will move up or down by the end of each day’s trading session.
