Marex launches its Institutional Quantitative Investment Strategies offering
Marex today announced the launch of its Institutional Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) offering, expanding its capabilities for institutional and own-account investors seeking systematic access to digital assets, commodities, equities and their related risk premia.
QIS are rules-based investment strategies designed to provide transparent and systematic exposure to specific market themes, asset classes or risk premia without requiring investors to trade the underlying instruments directly.
Over the past two years, the Financial Products team at Marex has developed its QIS capabilities across a range of use cases. This has included indices used as underlyings for structured products, as well as customised indices designed to help institutional clients implement their own investment strategies.
Marex is now expanding this capability with the launch of its first proprietary, off-the-shelf Institutional solution.
Walter Cegarra, Head of Institutional Solutions, Financial Products, said:
“For years now, QIS indices have allowed institutional and own account investors to get operational and cost-efficient access to risk premia across traditional assets. In our drive to add value through innovation, we are happy to announce the launch of the first institutional QIS indices on digital assets in the market. This provides traditional investors with access to digital assets through the familiar QIS format, while giving crypto-native allocators access to the solutions offered by the QIS structure. The offering has been built from the outset to extend to other assets classes and other premia.”
The platform is designed to function across asset classes, with strategies spanning areas including digital assets, commodities, equities and multi-asset solutions.
In addition to the Institutional Solutions team, Marex’ Institutional QIS offering draws on expertise across QIS trading, led by Dominic Savage; quantitative research, led by Vladimir Lucic; QIS structuring, led by Remy Penin; and Marex’s broader market access and specialist capabilities support the development of strategies across a range of asset classes.
Investors can access Marex’s QIS offering through a series of implementation formats depending on their requirements, including tracker certificates, total return swaps (using traditional or digital assets as collateral) and structured notes, with additional formats under development.
