Jurgen Stegmann steps down from ABN AMRO Supervisory Board
ABN AMRO announced today that Jurgen Stegmann has decided to resign as a member of the Supervisory Board of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. with immediate effect. The move is attributed to personal reasons.

His in-depth expertise in risk management and his more than 35 years of experience in the financial sector have been of great value. I would like to express my deep appreciation for his contribution to the supervision of ABN AMRO in the past five years.’
Jurgen Stegmann was appointed to the Supervisory Boards of ABN AMRO Group N.V. and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. on 12 August 2016.
He began his career in 1984 at MeesPierson (Bank Mees & Hope) and held various positions, mainly in Corporate Banking, before becoming Managing Director Risk Management at Fortis Bank (Nederland) N.V. in 1996 and Chairman of its Credit Committee (member since 1994).
In 1998, Mr Stegmann became Member of the Managing Board of Fortis Bank (Nederland) N.V. and Generale Bank Nederland B.V. In this role he was primarily responsible for credit and counterparty risk.
From 2000 to 2008, Mr Stegmann worked at NIBC Bank N.V. as Vice-Chairman and Chief Risk Officer. In this role he was responsible for risk management, foreign offices, operations (2000-2005), financial authorities and rating agencies. From 2008 until 2011 and from 2015 onwards Mr Stegmann rendered consultancy and advisory services (strategy, finance, risk management, governance) for midsized and large corporates via Stegmanagement B.V., of which he was and still is owner. In January 2019 he stepped down as Executive Director.
In 2011, Mr Stegmann was appointed Chief Financial Officer at Robeco Groep N.V. and in such capacity responsible for finance, risk, legal, strategy and group services. Mr Stegmann left Robeco Groep N.V. In 2015.
From July 2015 to May 2016 Mr Stegmann was advisor for a Private Equity investor. From October 2010 until October 2018, Mr Stegmann was member of the Supervisory Board of the Stichting Woonstad Rotterdam.
