Exclusive: Saxo Bank commercial offering head Casper Andreas Solbakken departs
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime Saxo Bank executive Casper Andreas Solbakken has left the company. The move continues the exit of numerous senior executives at the Copenhagen based Retail FX and CFDs broker, some of whom have been at Saxo Bank for 10 or 20 years (or more), following the takeover of Saxo Bank by Safra Group and the installation of new CEO Daniel Belfer.
The executive changes at Saxo seem to be part cost cutting by the new owners, and part replacement of key roles at Saxo with Safra Group people.
Casper Andreas Solbakken had been at Saxo Bank for more than 20 years, joining in early 2006 as a student assistant in the equity and derivatives department. In 2019 he was promoted to Head of Equities, and following several other moves up the ladder Casper was named Global Head of Commercial Offering & Experience in 2024 at Saxo.
Other recent departures at Saxo have included COO and Deputy CEO Søren Kyhl, risk governance head Laura Berg Deleuran, and CCO Stig Christensen.
Casper Andreas Solbakken posted the following note on social media regarding his departure from Saxo.
After 20 incredible years at Saxo Bank, the time has come for me to start a new chapter.
My journey with Saxo Bank has shaped me profoundly — strengthening my leadership, broadening my perspective, and reinforcing my belief in disciplined execution, strategic clarity, and strong collaboration across teams and functions.
During this time, I have had the privilege of contributing to significant developments across the organisation, helping drive commercial transformation, expand product capabilities, and improve the quality of the offering we deliver to clients.
I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, the experiences gained along the way, and the many friendships formed during my time with the organisation.
For me, this marks the beginning of my next adventure, and I am excited to see where it will lead.
Looking ahead, I am interested in commercial leadership roles in companies that are digital — or have the ambition to become digital — particularly where technology, data and AI are reshaping business models, and where I can help drive growth and create meaningful impact for both the business and its clients. If you are building something interesting, let’s talk.
Over the next months, I will be taking time to reflect on the next chapter — meeting people, exchanging perspectives, and considering where I can create the greatest impact going forward. I expect to be open to new opportunities in the autumn, so if you would like to meet for a conversation about a potential opportunity, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
To everyone at Saxo: thank you. It has been a privilege working with you all, and I wish you continued success in the future.
