Interactive Brokers registers decline in DARTs in August 2023
Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR) has just published its key operating metrics for August 2023.
The brokerage reported 1.931 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) for August 2023, 2% lower than in August 2022 and 3% lower than in July 2023.
Ending client equity amounted to $377.6 billion, 22% higher than prior year and 2% lower than prior month, whereas ending client margin loan balances were $42.1 billion, 2% lower than prior year and 3% lower than prior month.
Interactive Brokers registered 2.37 million client accounts, 19% higher than prior year and 2% higher than prior month.
The average commission per cleared Commissionable Order was $3.09 including exchange, clearing and regulatory fees.
Let’s note that Interactive Brokers reported net revenues were $1,000 million for the second quarter of 2023 and $1,064 million as adjusted. For the year-ago quarter, reported net revenues were $656 million and $717 million as adjusted.
Reported income before income taxes was $652 million for the second quarter of 2023 and $716 million as adjusted. For the year-ago quarter, reported income before income taxes was $392 million and $453 million as adjusted. Commission revenue was unchanged from the year-ago quarter at $322 million.
Customer trading volume was mixed across product types with options contracts volume up 9% while futures contracts and stock share volumes were down 3% and 28%, respectively.
