Interactive Brokers registers 13% Y/Y drop in DARTs in September 2022
Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR) has just published its key operating metrics for September 2022.
The brokerage reported 1.961 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) for September 2022, 13% lower than in September 2021 and about even with prior month.
Ending client equity was $287.1 billion, 19% lower than prior year and 7% lower than prior month, whereas ending client margin loan balances amounted to $40.5 billion, 19% lower than prior year and 6% lower than prior month.
Interactive Brokers reported 2.01 million client accounts, 31% higher than prior year and 1% higher than prior month.
The average commission per cleared Commissionable Order was $3.05 including exchange, clearing and regulatory fees.
Speaking of Interactive Brokers’ performance, let’s recall that, for the second quarter of 2022, the company reported diluted earnings per share of $0.72 and $0.84 as adjusted.
Reported net revenues were $656 million for the second quarter of 2022 and $717 million as adjusted. For the year-ago quarter, reported net revenues were $754 million and $650 million as adjusted. The result, however, was better than the $645 million in net revenues registered in the first quarter of 2022.
Reported income before income taxes was $392 million for the second quarter of 2022 and $453 million as adjusted. Commission revenue increased 5% to $322 million on higher customer options and futures trading volume tempered by lower stock volume.
