FOREX.com Japan updates on switch from MT4 to MT5
Online broker FOREX.com Japan today provided details on the planned transition from MT4 to MT5.
As FX News Group reported earlier, FOREX.com Japan will discontinue the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) service and migrate to its successor platform, MetaTrader 5 (MT5), in order to enhance security and improve the trading environment.
Access to MT4 accounts will be terminated and MT4 accounts will be closed on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 5:00 AM (Japan time).
No action is required from customers with cash balances, open positions, or pending orders in their MT4 accounts. The broker will migrate such customers to an MT5 account.
For customers who do not have an MT5 account, the broker will create a new MT5 account.
For customers who already have an MT5 account, their cash balance, open positions, and pending orders from their MT4 account will be migrated to their existing MT5 account.
Once your MT5 account is ready, the broker will notify you separately via email.
After receiving the notification email, please log in to your My Account and set your MT5 account password. After setting your password, you can log in to MT5 and set up passkey authentication.
Singapore stock CFDs and Dutch stock CFDs cannot be traded on MT5. Customers holding positions in these instruments must close them themselves by the final trading time for those instruments on Friday, October 16, 2026.
In addition to MT5, FOREX.com accounts allow you to use WebTrader and mobile apps. The brokerage also supports trading in Japanese stock CFDs and knockout options.
