Extended markets trading (pre and post-market hours) will be offered through a separate symbol for each stock and available as leveraged CFD only.
Extended hours trades can be made only via a separate symbol that ends in .EXT. Regular stock trade symbols (without .EXT) will only be executed during regular market hours. Each EXT stock will have its own discrete asset page. It will show the same data, feed, and other content as regular assets. EXT assets will include a unique icon displaying the word “Extended” to highlight its difference from other core assets.
The benefits of extended hours trading for investors are various.
For example, many companies release earnings reports and significant news outside of standard trading hours. This can lead to significant price movements that traders may want to react to immediately.
Extended hours trading can also provide insight into the potential opening price of a stock, which can help traders prepare for regular trading hours.
There is generally less trading volume during the extended hours market. Consequently, price moves can be more volatile and less representative of the broader market sentiment.
To find extended-hours stocks on the eToro app, visit the Discover page or use the Search bar and type the name of the relevant stock and looking for the .EXT asset.
You can enter post-market orders using the same trade execution screens as regular CFD trades.
