CMC Markets ditches CMC Connect brand for institutional offering
2026 might be known in the multi-asset trading industry, at least in part, as the year of liquidity provider rebranding.
After XTB renamed its X Open Hub B2B business as XTB Institutional, and LP Prime rebranded as Evenox, London based online broker CMC Markets (LON:CMCX) has announced that it is bringing its institutional offering under the CMC Markets brand. CMC explained the move as part of its strategy to scale institutional partnerships and strengthen its position as a global multi-asset financial services firm.
Previously presented under the CMC Connect brand, the offering will now be known as CMC Markets Institutional, creating a more unified identity for the Group’s institutional capabilities across trading, investing and wealth solutions.

CMC had relocated most of its CMC Connect management team from London to Dubai back in 2023, as the MENA and Far East regions presented the best opportunities for growth for the company’s B2B offering. However earlier this year CMC Connect head Richard Elston left to join liquidity and broker solutions provider Edgewater, to build out its UAE operation. CMC’s institutional business is now headed by the company’s Head of UK, Chris Cheverall.
The refreshed identity brings together CMC’s institutional capabilities across multi-asset liquidity, trading technology, investment infrastructure and public and private market access, providing partners with a more confident proposition to support their evolving business needs.
The company said that the branding change does not alter the underlying services provided to existing institutional clients and partners.
CMC Markets is controlled by founder and CEO Lord Peter Cruddas.
