ESMA has ongoing IT incident, Sweden’s fin regulator says
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has been experiencing an ongoing IT incident, according to Sweden’s financial regulator FI.
The problems have affected the TRS 2 system, rendering the delivery to national supervisory authorities LEI reference data files for transaction validation impossible. The issues have been ongoing since August 10, 2021.
Below is the full notice by the Swedish regulator:
“The TRS 2 system has an ongoing IT incident
ESMA has had an ongoing IT incident since 10 August 2021 that has prevented it from delivering to national supervisory authorities LEI reference data files for transaction validation.
Therefore, since 10 August, the TRS 2 system has been validating transactions against GLEIF LEI data as per 2021-08-09, which has resulted in a large number of incorrect RJCT statuses on transactions with LEI codes valid on TradeDates. The incident at ESMA is still unresolved as per 25 August.
More information regarding further handling of RJCT transactions will be published when the problem at ESMA has been resolved”.
