CySEC warns against six unauthorized investment firms
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) today issued a warning to the public regarding six entities that offer investment services in Cyprus without having the necessary license to do so.
The latest additions to the warning list include:
- winicoin.com
- fxviewinvestment.com
- enormoustradeharvest.com
- marketsocta.com
- colmex24.net
- tradingmasterclass77.com
CySEC urges investors to consult its website, before conducting business with investment firms, in order to ascertain the entities which are licensed to provide investment services and/or investment activities.
The Commission has been been regularly updating the list of unauthorized firms. In late May, for instance, CySEC added four unauthorized investment firms, such as Astro Capital Markets to the warning list. Shortly before that, the regulator added seven unauthorized investment firms to its warning list.
In April, CySEC issued a warning regarding individuals posing as its representatives.
The regulator has been informed that persons fraudulently presenting themselves as CySEC Officers or representatives are soliciting investors for fees in exchange for settlement of bogus compensation claims related to firms under CySEC supervision.
