Rakuten Securities increases number of servers for MARKETSPEED II platform
Japanese online trading company Rakuten Securities is enhancing the performance of its desktop trading platform MARKETSPEED II.
In a notice posted on its website today, the broker says that it has upgraded the servers for the platform. In particular, the number of servers supporting the platform has been increased.
Thanks to the upgrade, the response time when updating the screen has been reduced. Also, response times for chart transitioning have been improved. Especially when trading is crowded, the response at the time of closing is improved, and a more comfortable trading environment is thus provided.
Speaking of changes to Rakuten Securities’ solutions, let’s note that the broker disabled “TLS1.0” and “TLS1.1” for accessing certain webpages and apps starting from May 8, 2021. Only “TLS1.2” or above level is allowed.
The Japanese broker explains that security vulnerabilities have been reported in some versions of “TLS”, including “TLS1.0” and “TLS1.1”.
TLS 1.0 is a security protocol first defined in 1999 for establishing encryption channels over computer networks. Microsoft has supported this protocol since Windows XP/Server 2003. While no longer the default security protocol in use by modern operating systems, TLS 1.0 is still supported for backwards compatibility.
