SIX appoints Bjørn Sibbern as Global Head Exchanges, Member of Exec Board
SIX has appointed Bjørn Sibbern as Global Head Exchanges and Member of the Executive Board of SIX, effective January 1, 2024.
Currently serving as Executive Vice President and President of European Markets at Nasdaq, he boasts more than two decades’ experience operating across capital markets. He will replace Christoph Landis, who has headed up the exchange business of SIX on an interim basis since February 2023. Landis will return to his previous role as Head IT and member of the SIX Executive Board.

Bjørn Sibbern is currently serving as Executive Vice President and President of European Markets at Nasdaq. In this role, he leads Nasdaq markets and exchanges across Nordic and Baltic regions. He is also responsible for trading, listing, clearing, settlement and data businesses in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland and the Baltic nations.
Prior to this, Bjørn Sibbern was Executive Vice President for Nasdaq’s Global Information Services (GIS), based in New York City, having previously led Nasdaq’s Global Commodities business and served as President of the Nasdaq Copenhagen Exchange. Earlier in his career, he managed Nasdaq’s Nordic Cash Equities and Derivatives Markets.
Before joining Nasdaq, he was Head of Trading at Stocknet Norway and CEO at E*TRADE Bank Denmark. He holds an Executive MBA, a Diploma in Business Administration and an MSc in Economics & Business Administration and Law from Copenhagen Business School.
