FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Melbourne based Retail FX and CFDs broker Pepperstone has made a interesting addition to its global marketing team, hiring Victor Nguyen as Head of Marketing Science.

Victor Nguyen holds a PhD in Data Science from Nanyang Technological University, and joins Pepperstone from Sportsbet, Australia’s leading sports betting site. He had been with Sportsbet since 2016, acting as Head of Data Science and Product Personalisation. Sportsbet is a unit of London Stock Exchange traded Flutter Entertainment plc, formerly known as Paddy Power Betfair plc, formed from the 2016 merger of Paddy Power plc and Betfair Group plc.

Mr. Nguyen’s boss at Sportsbet was Tony Gruebner, who joined Pepperstone as its CMO late last year.

Data science and analytics is being increasingly used by Retail FX brokers in several phases of their business, from marketing and client acquisition to retention of existing clients.
