Pepperstone hires Sportsbet exec Tony Gruebner as CMO
Leading Australia based Retail FX and CFDs broker Pepperstone has gone outside the firm (and the industry) in naming a new CMO, Tony Gruebner. Mr. Gruebner replaces Meagan Nies in overseeing responsibilities for Pepperstone’s marketing operations worldwide. Ms. Nies, who joined Pepperstone as Head of Marketing in 2018, has left the company.
Tony Gruebner joins Melbourne based Pepperstone from Sportsbet, Australia’s leading sports betting site, where he had worked since 2011. Starting in commercial analytics, he became Sportsbet’s General Manager of Customer Operations and later GM Analytics and GM Data Products. Sportsbet is a unit of London Stock Exchange traded Flutter Entertainment plc, formerly known as Paddy Power Betfair plc, formed from the 2016 merger of Paddy Power plc and Betfair Group plc.
Mr. Gruebner will have quote a global operation to oversee, as Pepperstone has grown to become quote a global company. We recently reported that Pepperstone expanded with new licenses and operations in Kenya, Germany, and Dubai.
Tamas Szabo, Pepperstone CEO said the following to FNG about adding Tony:
“We are really excited to welcome Tony to our team in Melbourne, he is one of the most experienced digital marketing leaders in the country. He will help leverage our existing capabilities and provide some strong strategic direction to our marketing team.”

Hi Swaraj. Not sure I understand your point. Pepperstone didn’t issue a press release here either, we found out about it and posted this. Most companies don’t issue press releases about personnel moves unless its the CEO.
