Kraken hires Binance exec Lorenzo Capone to lead Italy and Southern Europe growth
FNG has learned that US crypto platform operator Kraken has taken further steps to build its business in Europe, hiring experienced digital assets industry executive Lorenzo Capone as Head of Regional Growth Southern Europe.
Based out of Rome, Lorenzo Capone joins Kraken after spending the past five years at rival crypto exchange Binance, where he was Head of Marketing and Business Development – Italy. Lorenzo holds degrees from UER – Università Europea di Roma, University of Rome (Tor Vergata), Luiss Business School and Mississippi State University.
Lorenzo posted the following note on LinkedIn about his move to Kraken.
I’m the new Head of Regional Growth for Italy & Southern Europe at Kraken 🦑
I’m obviously over the moon and all “thrilled to announce,” but if I told you that’s the only thing I’m feeling, I’d be lying.
Every time you change jobs, you’re not just changing “desks”.
You’re leaving behind people, routines, and a piece of yourself that inevitably stops existing.
Being curious and proactive isn’t enough to wipe out the discomfort that comes with every change in our lives.
But we go through it anyway, because deep down we know it’s making us grow.
Before working here, I became a Kraken customer at the beginning of 2026. I got to experience firsthand a company with a stellar reputation.
So accepting this offer wasn’t just a career move. It was choosing a set of values I felt aligned with my own.
And that’s exactly what should guide us when we pick a new place to thrive.
I don’t like the idea of “being hired.” It’s a mutual choice, otherwise it’s just a trade of time that will quickly drain everything we have to give. I wasn’t just chosen: I chose.
And that’s why I’m ready to give everything I’ve got!
