Exclusive: United Fintech Americas head Mark Lawrence departs
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Mark Lawrence, who served as Head of Americas for banktech and brokertech umbrella group United Fintech, has left his position with the company.
Mark Lawrence joined United Fintech in 2021, less than a year after the London and Copenhagen based company’s launch, to a head new US operation for United Fintech out of New York. Prior to his time at United Fintech Mark spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs in senior sales roles in London, New York and Hong Kong, latterly as LATAM Head of EFICC (Electronic Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities) with responsibility for also running e-FX Sales in the Americas and, prior to that, Head of EFICC APAC Sales. He has also held roles in e-FX Sales and GSET Sales, focusing on Equities and Futures electronic distribution.
Mark posted the following note on social media regarding his decision to leave United Fintech.
It’s time.
After nearly 5 years of helping to start up United Fintech, I’m moving on.
As employee number one in the US, it’s been an incredible journey and experience to play my part in this start-up launch and I’m incredibly proud of everything achieved over the last few years.
Huge thanks to our network of financial markets participants who took our calls/meetings, invested in our products, and invested in us and allowed our mission statement to materialize from paper to reality.
As with all businesses: It’s been a huge team effort from everyone within the United Fintech group. Thank you to all. With the continued investment and growing number of businesses on the United Fintech platform, I’m very excited for what the future holds. The rocket has launched.
Now for the next project.
I will be taking some time out to be with family over the next few months but on the look out for the next adventure and looking forward to staying in touch with all!
Onwards and upwards.
