Exclusive: Scope Markets names Pavel Spirin as CEO
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that London based investment firm Rostro Group is continuing to make changes at its recently-acquired Retail FX and CFDs broker Scope Markets, naming Pavel Spirin as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.
Pavel Spirin replaces Jacob Plattner as CEO at the CySEC-licensed broker. Mr. Plattner, the former COO of Alpari UK and Managing Director of GKFX, co-founded Scope Markets in 2016 and has since served as its CEO. As noted above he agreed to sell control of Scope Markets early last year to Rostro Group, but the transaction took nearly a year to close and for all regulatory approvals to be received.
Pavel Spirin joined Scope Markets as Chief Growth Officer in 2021, heading up marketing and retail business development. Prior to joining Scope he spent three years at Skilling as Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer. Pavel has also worked at CMC Markets (Global Head of Acquisition) and at Alpari UK (Global Acquisition Manager) where he first met Jacob Plattner. He has also worked in marketing in the gaming sector, at Betway Group and at Betfair.
Rostro Financial was founded in 2020 by former ACM/TradeTech (now Finalto) executive Roger Hambury, with ambitions to acquire and grow out companies in the Retail FX, CFDs, and crypto trading sector. The company announced its first acquisition in early 2022 buying CySEC-licensed Scope Markets.
