Euroclear’s MFEX names new CEO
Euroclear has announced management changes at recently acquired MFEX.
Having led the business over the last few intense months Jean Devambez has stepped down as CEO of the MFEX group, effective immediately. Brigitte Daurelle is appointed CEO of MFEX, with Carl Palmer appointed as Deputy CEO. Brigitte Daurelle continues to lead the integration of MFEX, supported by both Euroclear and MFEX management teams, as Euroclear extends its partnership for growth in the funds business.
A seasoned CEO with Board experience in financial services, Brigitte Daurelle has now taken on the leadership of the Euroclear-MFEX Integration Management Program, working on the smooth integration of one of the main B2B fund platforms, into the Euroclear Group.
She started at CNP, the leading French life insurer, where she refined the strategic partnership with one of CNP’s main distribution networks and boosted its commercial development.
As CEO of Euroclear Belgium, Euroclear France & Euroclear Nederland, she consolidated these three national CSDs onto a single platform, ESES, and connected them to Target 2 Securities. She previously built the Product and Marketing division for Sicovam (later to became Euroclear France).
Ms Daurelle has served on five Euroclear boards: non-executive Board member of Euroclear Finland and Euroclear Sweden between 2013 and 2015, and later on the Boards of Euroclear Belgium, Euroclear France & Euroclear Nederland. From 2016 to 2021, she also vice-chaired the European Central Securities Depository Association (ECSDA), which represents 41 institutions across 36 European countries, promoting constructive dialogue between stakeholders aiming at contributing to an efficient and risk-averse infrastructure for European financial markets.
Brigitte Daurelle currently sits on the board of directors SFIL, a public bank for development, in which she chairs the Accounts Committee. She contributed to the creation of Liquidshare, a European Fintech leveraging the blockchain technology, and has served during 3 years on its board of directors.
Carl Palmér is Deputy CEO MFEX by Euroclear.
He has over 15 years experience in fund distribution and has held several leadership positions within the MFEX Group, he is a member of the MFEX Executive Committee. Previously he was Chief Product Officer during which time he was responsible for M&A, which led to the establishment of MFEX as the leading Pan-European fund distribution platform with a global presence.
Carl Palmér currently sits on the Board of MFEX France, MFEX Luxembourg and Global Fund Watch, a digital compliance platform. He has also served on the Board of Fondab AB (Fondmarknaden.se) between 2015 and 2020, a Swedish B2C and B2B2C fund distribution platform.
Carl Palmér is a graduate from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London, and holds a MA in Russian Studies from Uppsala University.
