Barclays appoints Wee Yee-Yeong as Head of Private Bank in Singapore
Barclays today announced the appointment of Wee Yee-Yeong as Head of Private Bank Singapore and Head of Private Bank Asia.
Based in Singapore, he will lead Barclays’ private banking business in Singapore and drive a market-led approach for the region, working closely with the Private Bank’s wider distribution teams serving international Asian clients. He will join Barclays later this year.
Private Bank India will remain under the leadership of Adrish Ghosh, who will continue to report directly to Annabelle Bryde, Head of Private Bank International.
Yee-Yeong joins Barclays Private Bank from Morgan Stanley, where he is currently Chief Executive and Head of Sales for the firm’s Singapore wealth management business. He brings more than two decades of experience building wealth management franchises, leading teams and advising ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients across Asia Pacific. He has previously held senior leadership and client coverage roles at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will succeed Alexander Harrison in his capacity as Interim Head of Private Bank Singapore.
The appointment follows the recent launch of Barclays Private Bank’s Singapore booking centre and reinforces the bank’s commitment to expanding its presence in one of the world’s most important wealth management hubs. Together, these milestones strengthen Barclays’ ability to serve clients across multiple markets and provide access to the combined capabilities of its one Barclays model, spanning Private Bank, Corporate Bank and Investment Bank across banking, investments and financing.
Wee Yee-Yeong said:
“Barclays has a differentiated international proposition and strong momentum in Asia Pacific. I look forward to working across the bank to deepen client relationships and support the international needs of entrepreneurs, family offices and globally connected clients across the region.”
