LSEG Risk Intelligence introduces Active Intelligence for World-Check
LSEG Risk Intelligence has announced the launch of Active Intelligence for World-Check, a new data engine designed to help banks, non-bank financial institutions, fintechs and corporates cut manual screening work, prioritise the matches that matter and onboard customers faster.
Active Intelligence is the foundation that makes all World-Check data better. It delivers richer, more current and more comprehensive records, with additional secondary identifiers and clearer provenance behind every entry. Critically, it does not stand still: the data is continuously refined, so the intelligence customers screen against improves over time.
The result is a sharper screening foundation that gives compliance teams more complete information and more confidence when assessing customers and business relationships for financial crime and reputational risk.
World-Check Resolve is the first commercial product powered by Active Intelligence. Available within World-Check One through the user interface and API, World-Check Resolve applies advanced matching to separate genuine potential matches from noise.
In testing, World-Check Resolve suppressed an average of 74% of false positives without suppressing any true positives, meaning teams reviewed substantially fewer irrelevant alerts with no reduction in recall. World-Check Resolve also surfaces the supporting rationale behind each result, so analysts can focus their expertise on the cases that warrant investigation rather than repeatedly ruling out weak name matches.
David Wilson, Group Head, LSEG Risk Intelligence:
“Effective screening depends on two things: the quality of the data and the ability to find the matches that matter. Active Intelligence strengthens both, and it keeps strengthening them, this is data that learns. Screening is deliberately sensitive, and it can leave compliance teams reviewing results that ultimately prove irrelevant.
“In testing across 650,000 screening cases, World-Check Resolve reduced false-positive alerts by an average of 74%, without suppressing any true positives. That means less unnecessary work and clearer evidence, not less visibility. Analysts can see why a match surfaced, and our customers retain control of the final decision.”
Active Intelligence is built on Amazon Bedrock, with the technology and engineering foundations supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. The collaboration combines AWS capabilities with LSEG’s trusted risk intelligence data and domain expertise, enabling AI that operates at global scale while remaining governed, explainable and auditable.
Active Intelligence is designed to support, not replace, human expertise. LSEG specialist teams continue to oversee data curation and quality assurance, while customer analysts remain responsible for reviewing and resolving screening cases. World-Check Resolve prioritises results and provides supporting rationale; it does not make the customer’s final risk or compliance decision.
Tanuja Randery, VP & Managing Director, AWS EMEA:
“Financial institutions need AI that operates securely and resiliently at scale, while remaining transparent and governed. Our collaboration with LSEG Risk Intelligence supports the technology and engineering foundations behind Active Intelligence, combining AWS capabilities with LSEG’s trusted risk intelligence data, domain expertise and commitment to explainability and human oversight.”
