Exclusive: CFI Chief Business Development Officer Ahmad Khatib departs
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Ahmad Khatib, Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) at leading Dubai based online broker CFI, has left his position at the company. He will remain as an advisor to CFI CEO Ziad Melhem.
Ahmad Khatib initially joined CFI as a Board Advisor in 2022, and came on board full time in an executive role in 2024 to head business development at CFI. Ahmad was previously CEO of Arabic market focused Retail FX and CFDs broker Amana for 12 years, between 2009-2021.
CFI has been making a number of senior management changes since the appointment of Ziad Melhem as CEO last year. Earlier this month company co-Founders Hisham Mansour and Eduardo Fakhoury transitioned from their roles as Chairman and Vice Chairman to become Non-Executive Directors of CFI, with former Swissquote, CMC Markets, and ActivTrades executive Federico Cirulli named Chairman.
CFI CEO Ziad Melhem said in a statement to FNG,
“After a successful chapter as CBDO, Ahmad Khatib has decided to move on to focus on personal projects. We’re grateful for his contribution and pleased he’ll continue to support CFI as an advisor to the CEO. We wish him every success.”
Ahmad posted the following note on social media regarding his departure from CFI.
After a great chapter, my time as Chief Business Development Officer at CFI is coming to an end.
I am grateful to the founders Hisham Mansour and Eduardo Fakhoury for the trust and support, and to everyone across the group for the energy, commitment and teamwork throughout the journey.
We achieved a lot together, and I leave proud of the results, but even more appreciative of the people and relationships built along the way.
I am now moving into a new chapter, focusing on a number of personal projects and ideas that I have been postponing for some time.
I will also remain involved with CFI as an advisor to the CEO, so this is not really a goodbye.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this chapter.
Looking forward to what comes next.
