Rob Cheeseman joins Marex as Head of Prime Services Asia
Institutional broker Marex Group Ltd (NASDAQ:MRX) has announced that the company has appointed Robert Cheeseman as Head of Prime Services Asia.
Rob has over 25 years’ institutional experience across listed derivatives, prime services and electronic trading, with extensive expertise in APAC markets. He was Managing Director – Co-Head of Client Development at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), where he focused on client development and building a global presence. Prior to HKEX, he spent almost four years at Credit Suisse as Managing Director, Head of APAC Prime Derivatives Services, leading trading teams across Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Mumbai. Earlier in his career, Rob was Head of APAC Cross-Asset Listed Derivatives Execution at Morgan Stanley and worked at Goldman Sachs for almost a decade, initially in cash equity electronic trading in London and subsequently in Hong Kong in listed derivatives sales and trading.
At Marex and based in Hong Kong, Rob will oversee the firm’s Prime Services business in Asia, driving growth across prime brokerage and outsourced trading. His focus will be on supporting hedge funds, asset managers, family offices and institutional clients with the infrastructure and services they need to launch and scale. Rob will work closely with the global and other regional co-heads to help shape the division’s growth strategy and strengthen its position as a leading provider of institutional prime services globally.
