Exclusive: New Retail FX broker GoDo started by former AvaTrade executives
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that two of AvaTrade’s most senior executives in the UAE have left the company, and started their own new Retail FX and CFDs brokerage brand called GoDo, at godofx.com.
GoDo is starting out its existence as a Mauritius FSC regulated entity, although the brand will be based in and managed from Dubai. The company’s two founders are Mohamed Ahmed and Ebieraja Alex, with financial backing from a UAE family office investor.
Mohamed Ahmed is one of the better known and experienced executives in the UAE forex scene. He was CEO of AvaTrade’s Dubai based operation for the past two years. Prior to joining AvaTrade in 2019 he was Manager – Premium Clients for IG in Dubai, Head of Dubai office for Amana Capital, and Middle East and North Africa Sales Manager for FXCM. He began his FX industry career working for Gain Capital (Forex.com) in New York in 2011.
Ebieraja Alex was Head Of Business Development for Mr. Ahmed in AvaTrade UAE for the past year and a half. He joined AvaTrade after spending six years as VP – Head of Sales Support at ADSS. Mr. Alex also worked previously at Alpari UK as their senior sales manager in the UAE.
GoDo is offering trading on the MT4 platform, as well as via ZuluTrade copy trading and RoboX social trading. Its initial focus appears to be the Arabic language trader market, but the company has plans to expand to other markets and jurisdictions, and add additional licenses.
FNG spoke with Mohamed Ahmed about the new venture. He said:
