Japanese FX broker Rakuten Securities terminates commodity futures trading account service
Japanese online trading company Rakuten Securities is terminating the commodity futures trading account service due to the integration of futures and options trading services.
In a notice to its clients published today, the broker confirms that commodity futures trading accounts will no longer be available, effective today. The company thanked its customers who used such accounts for their loyalty.
Customers who have completed the transfer application procedure for the futures / options trading account service will be able to continue to trade after the margin and open interest have been transferred to the futures / options trading accounts, effective October 12, 2020 (Monday).
The final login date for commodity futures trading accounts will be November 13, 2020 (Friday). After that, owners of commodity futures trading accounts will not be able to log in. The brokerage advises its clients to save documents such as transaction reports and income statements in advance. Report-related documents will not be transferred to futures / options trading accounts.
To log in to a futures / options trading accounts, traders will need the login information of Rakuten Securities General Account. The user ID and password for the commodity futures trading account cannot be used.
In order to make use of the futures / options trading accounts, traders will need to download Market Speed II for PC or iSPEED Futures OP for smartphones.
