Interactive Brokers marks strong end to 2020, DARTs rise 198% Y/Y in Dec
Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR) has just reported its operating metrics for December 2020, with the data revealing that the company ended the year on a strong note.
Interactive Brokers reported 2,301,000 Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) for December 2020, with the result roughly unchanged from November 2020 levels. In annual terms, however, the DARTs for December 2020 were up 198%.
In December 2020, ending client equity of $288.6 billion, 66% higher than prior year and 7% higher than prior month.
Interactive Brokers posted ending client margin loan balances of $39.0 billion, 26% higher than prior year and 18% higher than in the preceding month.
Ending client credit balances amounted to $77.7 billion, 34% higher than prior year and 3% higher than prior month.
The number of client accounts reached 1,073,000, 56% higher than prior year and 3% higher than in November 2020.
Let’s recall that Interactive Brokers reported net revenues of $548 million and income before income taxes of $334 million for the third quarter of 2020, compared to net revenues of $466 million and income before income taxes of $281 million for the same period in 2019.
Adjusted net revenues were $518 million and adjusted income before income taxes was $304 million in the third quarter of 2020, compared to adjusted net revenues of $525 million and adjusted income before income taxes of $340 million for the same period in 2019.
