Interactive Brokers adds overnight trading condition support to TWS API
Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers continues to enhance its TWS API.
The brokerage has added the new conditionsIncludeOvernight field to the Order object, allowing orders with conditions to include overnight trading sessions when evaluating conditional criteria.
Also, the protocol buffer (.proto) files has been improved by the addition of descriptions for all fields, making the files easier to understand and simplifying development and integration efforts.
Recently, the TWS API was released as open source under the GNU General Public License (GPL), providing developers with greater transparency, flexibility, and opportunities to contribute to the ongoing development of the API.
Also, a new Settlement Type field has been added to Contract Details, allowing users to view settlement information directly within contract data for enhanced transparency and analysis.
Interactive Brokers’ trading oriented API allows you to develop applications in C++, C#, Java, Python, ActiveX, RTD or DDE. Utilize prebuilt libraries to automate features in TWS UI or develop your own interface. Users can consider this if they want to use the client gateway in order to access higher trade volume while using less bandwidth.
