IG looks at improvements to its Multi-Factor Authentication process
Electronic trading major IG is currently looking at improvements to its Multi-Factor Authentication process. The broker would love to hear traders’ thoughts on the proposed designs.
The development teams have been working on a new solution for its Multi-Factor Authentication and it is running client feedback sessions to gather traders’ thoughts. If you would like to take part and talk to one of our UX Researchers then you can schedule your time here.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an optional security enhancement for one’s IG account that improves protection against unauthorised access.
To set up 2FA:
- Download the IG Authentication app onto your Apple or Android device from the relevant app store
- Log in to My IG on your desktop and go to the ‘settings’ tab. Click on ‘two-factor authentication’ on the left-hand side list and follow the instructions
- When logging in with 2FA activated, you’ll need to enter your existing password followed by the verification code from the IG Authentication app in the password field. For example: in the password field, you‘d enter ‘myIGpassword123456’ where ‘123456’ is the verification code from the app.
If your account has been suspended or you need to set up 2FA on a new device, you‘ll first need to disable the existing 2FA.
