Exclusive: CFDs broker GODO gets CySEC, FSCA licenses, UAE CMA pending
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Dubai based offshore CFDs broker GODO has “come onshore” in a big way, adding several regulatory licenses in key locations over the past several weeks. The company is planning a major expansion internationally beyond its traditional Arabic and Persian speaking and Far East markets, as a multi-regulated financial services group.
GODO history

GODO began operation in 2021, founded by former AvaTrade executives Mohamed Ahmed and Ebie Alex, as was also reported exclusively at the time here at FNG. Mohamed Ahmed, formerly CEO of AvaTrade’s Dubai based operation, has acted as CEO of GODO since the company’s founding.
The company initially began operating from the godofx.com website, but dropped the “FX” from its brand and website url a couple of years ago and transitioned to godocm.com.
GODO Cyprus
GODO has operated as a Mauritius domiciled entity since inception, but as of May 14, 2026 the company was granted a CySEC CIF license (number 466/26) for Cyprus based subsidiary GODO Capital Ltd. This is the only new CIF license that CySEC has granted to a CFDs broker so far in 2026.
We understand that the company is currently in the setup phase for the Cyprus operation, with an immediate focus on completing banking arrangements and putting the required compliance and operational infrastructure in place. GODO also plans to start building its Cyprus team and hiring shortly.
The company has reserved the godocapital.com website for its CySEC licensed operation, from where GODO will serve clients across the EU. The godocapital.com website currently shows “parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com”.
Other licenses
We also understand that GODO recently obtained its South African license from the FSCA. Subsidiary GODO Financial Services (Pty) Ltd was awarded its FSCA license on May 4, 2026.
In the UAE, its home base, GODO has also received initial approval from the CMA for a full Category 1 license. The company is currently working through the remaining regulatory requirements toward obtaining the final CMA license.
FNG spoke with GODO CEO Mohamed Ahmed, who said,
“Receiving the CySEC licence is an important milestone in GODO’s journey. Over the past five years, we have focused on building GODO into an internationally regulated financial services group, and Cyprus is an important part of that strategy.
“Our focus now is on putting the right people, infrastructure and compliance framework in place before launching the Cyprus operation. Together with our recent South African licence and continued regulatory expansion in the UAE, this takes us another step forward in the international business we set out to build.”
