APRA grants foreign ADI licence to Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has granted Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank Co., Ltd a licence to operate as a foreign authorised deposit-taking institution (Foreign-ADI) under the Banking Act 1959.
In 1992, Fubon Group established Fubon Commercial Bank, officially named Fubon Commercial Bank Co., Ltd., commonly referred to as Fubon Bank. In 2005, Taipei Bank and Fubon Bank officially merged to form Taipei Fubon Bank, marking the first major merger between a government-owned bank and a private bank in Taiwan’s financial history. In 2023, Taipei Fubon Bank and JihSun Bank officially merged.
