SBI Holdings invests in Temple Digital Group
SBI Holdings, Inc today announced that it has led the investment round in Temple Digital Group, a company that provides trading infrastructure on the Canton Network, a blockchain foundation for institutional investors.
This investment will further deepen SBI’s involvement in the Canton Network and promote its expansion into the areas of RWA (the area of digitally securitizing real-world assets such as real estate and bonds) and digital asset trading infrastructure.
Temple is an electronic exchange generating the highest revenue among decentralized exchanges operated on the Canton Network, a blockchain foundation designed for use by institutional investors in the global capital markets. Most recently, it introduced a new system called “Lightspeed,” which supports sub-second order matching and the processing of 100,000 orders per second, achieving the processing capacity necessary for vast trading volumes on an institutional investor scale.
Moving forward, after obtaining licenses related to the operation of securities trading systems, it is preparing to accommodate regulated markets in the second half of 2026. Through this, it aims to realize a platform that enables the listing and trading of traditional market products, equipped with transaction privacy protection, instant settlement, and interoperability between financial applications, all under a mechanism where users manage their own assets, eliminating the risk of depositing them with third parties.
The Canton Network currently has over 600 participating institutions, including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Broadridge, Franklin Templeton, and Euroclear, and the scale of assets managed on its blockchain exceeds $6 trillion. In addition, broader expansion is expected in the second half of 2026, as DTCC, the central clearing agency for the U.S. securities market, adopts the Canton Network for the digital securitization of U.S. Treasuries.
