Clearstream launches its new SFTR API
Clearstream has launched its new SFTR API, which allows customers to retrieve information about their securities lending and borrowing transactions and assists them in their SFTR reporting as mandated under the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR).
With this new API, borrowers and lenders will now be able to extract data seamlessly through machine-to-machine communication for their SFTR reporting or auditing, and benefit from:
- Optimised efficiency;
- Increased reconciliation rates;
- Maximised flexibility on data use.
The Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR) intends to increase transparency across securities financing markets by introducing reporting requirements for Securities Financing Transactions (SFTs). As such, market participants are required to report their SFT details to a registered trade repository.
As the golden source of securities lending data, Clearstream can support borrowers and lenders in their reporting needs.
The SFTR API leverages Clearstream’s API platform, which exposes data directly to the IT systems of our customers, allowing the integration of data into customers’ regulatory reporting systems in a seamless and secure manner.
