State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) has announced the appointment of Jessica Donohue as global head of its Asset Owner segment business.

Ms Donohue assumes this leadership role following her most recent position leading the Global Clients Division, where she was responsible for relationship management of the firm’s largest and most complex global clients. Ms. Donohue will report to Francisco Aristeguieta, chief executive officer of State Street Institutional Services.

Ms Donohue is charged with growing the Asset Owner business as well as advancing State Street’s commitment to an integrated, solutions-driven, strategic partner approach to the firm’s Asset Owner clients pioneered in the Global Clients Division. In this capacity, she will work across State Street to deliver solutions that help clients meet their goals by establishing a more efficient and effective operating model and a fit-for-purpose governance structure leveraging the full capabilities of State Street, including its industry-leading Alpha platform.

Ms Donohue is a 20 year veteran of the financial services industry, having held a number of senior roles at State Street that covered Asset Owners in addition to other client segments and were global in scope. She served as global head of performance and analytics and head of State Street Associates, State Street’s academic partnership, supporting the acceleration of innovation across State Street.

She also founded and led the Advisory and Information Solutions business for Global Exchange, State Street’s data and analytics business, where she and her team created several new business lines including investable indices and advisory solutions. She also served as chief innovation officer for Global Exchange, leveraging a unique blend of academic and industry knowledge to drive new solutions in the areas of portfolio analytics and data science to enhance returns, control risk, optimize performance, manage liquidity, and monitor market conditions.

Ms Donohue will lead a seasoned team of financial services professionals, including Rob Baillie, head of asset owners for North America, Benjie Fraser head of asset owners for EMEA, and Babloo Sarin, head of asset owners for APAC.
