Standard Chartered today announced the appointment of Doris Wong as Head of Coverage, Greater China and North Asia (GCNA), effective June 1.

Based in Hong Kong, Doris Wong will sit on the Client Coverage Management Team. She will report to Roberto Hoornweg, CEO, Corporate & Investment Bank, in his capacity as interim Global Head of Client Coverage and subsequently to Jan Metzger once he comes on board in July as Global Head of Coverage Banking. A seasoned banker, Doris Wong brings with her a wealth of experience and deep client relationships.
She joins Standard Chartered after nearly 18 years with HSBC, where she was most recently Head of Corporate Coverage, Global Banking, Hong Kong, acting as the senior coverage banker for established Hong Kong-listed companies across key sectors including real estate, energy, infrastructure, telecommunications and consumer.
Additionally, she led a range of core financing mandates spanning capital markets transactions, project financing, structured financing and syndicated loans.
Prior roles include Regional Head of Wholesale Portfolio Management for Asia Pacific, responsible for overseeing risk-weighted assets across the Credit, Lending and Trade books.
Roberto Hoornweg said:
“Doris is one of the most accomplished client leaders in the region, with a distinguished track record across coverage, capital markets and portfolio management. Her deep relationships with Hong Kong blue chip corporates and China red chip clients, combined with her breadth of transaction experience, make her an outstanding addition to Standard Chartered’s leadership in Greater China and North Asia. We are delighted to welcome her to the team.”
