US based crypto exchange operator Kraken is continuing to grow out its CySEC licensed, Cyprus based brokerage operation, hiring regulatory expert Andreas Roussos as Director of its Cyprus business.

Kraken parent Payward Inc acquired CySEC licensed I.F. Greenfields Wealth Ltd last year, and has been adding staff to the operation, now renamed Payward Europe Digital Solutions (CY) Limited. Late in 2025 Kraken added former Pepperstone executive Stavros Vassiliades to head Cyprus compliance, as was exclusively reported at the time here at FNG.

Andreas Roussos spent the past 10 years as a Partner at Cyprus based regulatory reporting solutions company Point Nine, before leaving earlier this year.

Kraken, alongside a number of other leading crypto exchanges (such as Crypto.com), has been actively expanding outside of crypto products, as well as geographically with moves such as adding EU brokerage licenses, and hiring people with CFDs brokerage experience.
