James Richards to act as interim Chair of CMC Markets’ Group Risk Committee
Online broker CMC Markets plc (LON:CMCX) announces that, regarding the retirement of Clare Salmon, Chair of the Group Risk Committee, at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting, the company announces that James Richards will act as interim Chair of the Group Risk Committee until a successor is found.
The process to appoint a successor to Clare Salmon is underway and a further announcement will be made in due course.
James Richards joined CMC Markets as a Non-Executive Director in April 2015 and was appointed as Chairman with effect from 1 January 2018 and Chair of the Nomination Committee from 31 January 2018. He has previously held positions as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and been a member of the Nomination Committee, Group Risk Committee and Group Audit Committee.
James Richards was admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales in 1984 and in the Republic of Ireland in 2012. He was a partner at Dillon Eustace, a law firm specialising in financial services in Ireland, (2012 to 2016). Prior to this he was a finance partner at Travers Smith LLP for 14 years.
Having occupied various senior positions within leading law firms Mr Richards has extensive experience in derivatives, debt capital markets and structured finance working with major corporates, central banks and governmental organisations.
